System Recovery Doesn’t Work Properly

System Recovery Doesn’t Work Properly with my branded PC/ Laptop. Did you experienced this problem?. When you try to restore you system in default setting by using System Recovery feature stored in your drive or System Recovery Disk, stop in the middle of setting up or in other way, after recovered procedure from default system the performance of your PC is not the same as before.

Possible Solutions:

  • Check your CD Recovery if their is some scratches or damaged. In some cases, the installation procedure stop in the middle of setting up because some parts of data was damaged and can’t provide the full data required. The same also to the System Recovery featured stored on your drive.
  • Replace your Optical Drive – If you’re optical drive not reading well, the same problem above is the possible caused.
  • Replace your Memory Card (SDRAM,DDR,DDR2, DDR3). Possible that your memory is near to damaged.
  • Scan your hard drive using scandisk repair procedure on DOS command. Possible that your hard drives contained bad clusters. To do this job, click start>run, under the run menu type “ CMD” to direct to DOS command and type “ Scandisk/r” and your PC/Laptop will ask for restart and when your PC load again, the scan procedure will automatically begin to check your drive.
  • Lastly  and best solution for that problem. Slave you hard drive to other unit and delete all partition even the recovery system is included in the hardware. Why? because most of the drive partition was already damaged specially to the old computers/Laptop or long run of used and the only solution for that is to delete the partition and make a new one and setup again using Recovery Disk CD. But for those who didn’t  make backup Recovery Disk and they only using System Recovery stored on the drive, you can also use other operating System CD (Windows XP, VISTA, Windows 7 etc) the same with your OS and input the product key on your PC beside for CPU and at the back/under for laptop. So, your laptop/branded desktop still using license product key.

Optical Drive Doesn’t Read CD/DVD Troubleshooting

Optical drive doesn’t read or recognize any CD/DVD. Did you encountered this problem? If yes, follow the rest of my post I can give you the possible solution.

Problem Possible to encounters

  • You tried to insert a lot of  original CD/DVD and it takes a lot of time before optical drive can open the CD/DVD, but every CD/DVD was opened , No data appears. When you try to open you CD  to other Optical Drive, everything works fine.
  • You tried to insert a lot of original and no scratches CD/DVD on your Optical Drive, but when you try to open the CD/DVD to your Optical Drive, CD/DVD is automatically ejecting.
  • No optical drive showing in “My Computer “ menu, but appearing on BIOS System.

Possible Solution

  • The last encountered ( No optical drive showing in My Computer but appearing on BIOS system) problem was caused by virus or system corruption. The first things you need to do is system restore, all Windows based system have their own system restore application to back you system earlier time, to the date your PC was working properly. If you don’t know where you can find that, here the instruction. Click START>ALL PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES> SYSTEM TOOLS>SYSTEM RESTORE. The next things you need to do is updates the firmware of your optical drive and can download it direct to their respective sites of the model of your PC/ Laptop (for branded) or to the sites of the model of your optical drive. And lastly, you need to reformat or reprogram you Windows System.
  • Under the remaining two encountered problems above, first , try to reprogram or reformat you Windows System. If Operating System (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 etc.) CD/DVD was properly installed , well it’s good because the only problem is software. But if not, you need to reassemble or realign your optical drive. If you have no knowledge how to do that, you need a computer technician. 90% of the optical drive doesn’t read any CD/DVD that I encountered, was repaired by reassemble or realign the drive. Especially for optical drive less than a year
  • Another tips is , try to replace you cable that connect to Motherboard-Optical Drive (IDE, SATA etc).

Hard Drive with Bad Cluster Still Fit To Use

Hard Drives are contain millions of sectors and it is normal for some of these sectors to be bad sectors event when the drive is first manufactured. Unfortunately, the hard drive with bad sectors, the data stored them are not any more accessible or  may be lost ,and in the long usages of hard drive, bad sectors increases and the storage capacity of the disk will be decreased by the amount of storage space in the bad sector and soon your hard drive are not accessible . If you want to know how make your Hard Drive still usable even some part of them are contained with bad sectors, follow the rest of my post. But first you must know what is possible encountered if your hard drive contained bad sectors.

Possible encountered the hard drive contained bad clusters.
  • Improper program terminations and shutting off a computer without closing the application first.
  • Computer sometimes hang-up while in use.
  • Can’t access some data stored in your hard drive.
  • Terminate your copy and paste  procedures.
  • Setting up application terminate in the middle of the installation or even from the start.
  • Sometimes hard drive can’t format, sometimes possible.
  • Operating System ( Windows XP, Windows VIsta, Windows 7 , etc) setup stop in the middle of installation.

If you encountered one of them, here’s the solution how you can still use  some parts of your hard drive not yet contained with bad sectors or fix bad sectors.

  • Run “ CHKDSK.EXE”  under Start>Run or “CHKDSK/R” under you DOS Command ( required to reboot your PC). This procedure could help you to fix some bad clusters.
  • Other solution, double click to “ MY COMPUTER” then right click to the volume drive and choose “ PROPERTIES>TOOLS>CHECK NOW”. Two option available to check disk option “ Automatic fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors” and click START, to fix your drive.

After that procedures and still lot bad sectors left , here the solution to make you hard drive still fit to use.

  • Partition your hard drive as many as possible. We do this job to avoid some parts of the sectors contained bad sectors.  Let say  bad sectors was included in the first partition ( Drive C:) , So, jump to other partition drive you created, means don’t use that partition or permanently delete that partition ( you can do this job by simply right click to “ My computer> Manage> Disk Management” and right to the drive you want to delete , choose “ Delete Volume) this procedure works only for Windows Vista and Windows 7. If you are using other Operating System , I suggest to slave your hard drive to other PC or you need operating System CD and run it in standard procedure format and setup.
  • If you still confused how it works. Well, you can still setup your OS ( Windows XP, VISTA, 7, etc) to the other drives, we only concentrate on drive C:, but in fact you can setup you Windows System in your desire drive like we setup multiple Windows. You can also setup your other application to the drive you like and paste your data to the partition drive that you think not contained with bad sectors.

Tips Why Windows Setup Can’t Continue
